Seven card stud was one of the popular games of poker game in the card room. People who play poker know about the seven card stud game. Baseball or follow the ace are some variations of this game which includes different wild cards. However, in the card room there is no wild cards. In this game the number of players is limited to seven or less as each of them has to receive seven cards.

In seven card stud there are five betting rounds rather than four as in Hold’em and Omaha. But as per the limits the player wants to play there are two betting variations. In the higher limits of the game, there is one amount for the first two rounds and for the last three rounds the limits double. But for lower limit games the betting levels are usually same.

In seven card stud game each player has to put some money in the pot before the game starts which implies that this is an ante game. The ante amount basically depends on the limit of the game and varies from card room to card room. The size of the ante could be in between 1/10th to 1/4th of the full bet. For $1-5 the ante is around 50 cents. In some card rooms offer low limit spread games without any antes.

Once the antes put in the dealer scoops the money into the pot. Usually dealer is supplied to the card room who does not play, that’s why a dealer button is used by the player who is last to act. Players has to dealt with two cards down and one card up in the beginning from the player who is immediate left to the dealer button. The two faces down cards are known as hole cards and the up cards referred as door card.

The first betting round which is known as Third Street as the player received three cards to begin the hand and usually begins when the cards are dealt. The player with lowest door card showing is forced to bet known as bring in bet in the first betting round. The size of the bring in bet is more than the ante but less than the minimum bet. The bring in bet is usually one dollar in the low limit spread games. Once the bet is made the player on the left has the option to call the bet, fold or raise.

In the second betting round each player has to deal with a second card face up and is known as Fourth Street. Here the player with highest hand need not bet and a player on his left has the option of betting or checking. Players acting after the bet must call fold or raise and the raise is double in a spread game or the higher denomination in the fixed betting game. The fifth street deals with a third card face up. In the sixth and seventh street players has to deal with a fourth card face up and face down card respectively.
