End of the world predictions have been around for a long time. When the year 1000 A.D. was approaching many feared it would be the end of mankind.
Fast forward to the year 1999 A.D. and the new doom and gloom prophecies related to the Y2K bug. The end of all computers was coming that would shut down the financial markets and lead to an all out economic panic
Todays end of the world predictions are related to more sinister and global events. We are constantly hearing about terrorism, global warming, flu pandemics, and more. Could these all be signs that the end of the world is coming?
There was a physician name Nostradamus who delved into the mystical to deliver a wide array of prophesies. These prophecies were extremely accurate in some cases and have emerged again predicting the end of the world.
If you were to read Nostradamus prophesies it would be hard to deny that when he predicted the rise of Hitler, Napoleon, and the fall of the World Trade Centers that we should not give credence to prophesies related to today.
Since the 1970s though there has been one prediction that has really caught peoples interest and it comes from the Mayan calendar. The Mayan calendar was developed around the world and how it is related to the solar system. Given its accuracy, many people are concerned with the calendar ending on December 21, 2012. The end of the world.
But, who really knows if these end of the predictions are accurate? The only way to tell is to gather physical data and evaluate it for trends. Which way are these trends pointing and is there a convergence somewhere in the future?
If there is a convergence then the 2012 end of the world date may be valid. We should heed the warning and get prepared now.
